Longevity has become a bad word! But that's because there is no money in promoting the things that will actually make you healthier. Like broccoli.

Whenever there is talk of longevity, especially for the sake of not dying, I am reminded of the words/prayer of King David in Psalm 39, specifically verses 4-5:

O LORD, make me know my end

and what is the measure of my days;

let me know how fleeting I am!

Behold, you have made my days a few handbreadths,

and my lifetime is as nothing before you.

Surely all mankind stands as a mere breath!

Proverbs 90:12 teach us to number our days so that we may gain a heart of wisdom. I should have included this verse. Understanding our mortality makes us wise. It is a heart of wisdom to me that suggests we become emotionally wise. Heart of wisdom not mind of wisdom.
